Wella

WELLA loved Roger and loved giving him a bath, unfortunately Roger's take on it was of being scrubbed with a rough wash cloth until it felt like his skin was coming off! Her first words in English were, "GET OUTA MY HOUSE!" to all Roger's friends who loved running in and out of her house over on STATE STREET. But she still played tackle football with them in her front yard... Roger saw the circus one time and wanted to try out a trick with WELLA, so he laid on the floor, put his knees up against his chest and told WELLA to sit on his feet and then tossed her in the AIR. Now if someone told you to do that, WOULD YOU? She did...
Not only was she a good MAMA to him but a wonder sister to her family. She took care of two of her sisters till they passed away being barely able to care for herself. She just had that kind of heart. She didn't think of herself, only what she could do for everyone else. Is it any wonder I found a certificate with her having gotten FIRST AID TRAINING back in 1937? God blessed her with her son Paul. He loved his Mama and he went to the nursing home everyday to take her dinner because she didn't like the food there. Everyday he was there, loving, listening and caring for her.
GOD SAW THAT SHE WAS TIRED AND A CURE WAS NOT TO BE.
SO HE PUT HIS ARMS AROUND HER AND WHISPERED, "COME WITH ME."
WITH TEAR-FILLED EYES WE WATCHED HER SUFFER AND FADE AWAY.
ALTHOUGH WE LOVED HER DEEPLY, WE COULD NOT MAKE HER STAY.
A GOLDEN HEART STOPPED BEATING, HARD-WORKING HANDS PUT TO REST.
GOD BROKE OUR HEARTS TO PROVE TO US HE TAKES ONLY THE BEST.
We will have a memorial on this Saturday the 17th of June at our home. All are welcome. Please email for directions...
