Another person to come to the ACOSTA family reunion...

...which Carmen and I have failed to plan yet. Alyssa was born on Thursday the 20th, you know, the other day! I went to check her out at the hospital the next day (which was Friday, you know, the day after). I took more picture than this too but I will let Audrea share those...
Audrea is a LATIN girl and Alyssa's daddy, Gary, is a county redneck boy (that plays golf) and he has red hair, so everyone is pretty interested to see just how Alyssa's is going to look. I asked grandma Carmen first thing when I talked to her the other day (you know, Friday) and she said she had blue eyes, dark hair with red high-lights and light eye brows. I had to see this so I went right over the same day. Uhmm... I looked really hard, had the cap off and everything and I couldn't see any red in her hair (so shoot me!) but her eyebrows were light. I didn't see her eyes 'cause she was sleeping. Dad says (jokingly) that he's having DNA done! (What does he expect hooking up with a hot blooded Latin girl? I told him, "HOLD UP"! Wait a couple of months and she may look JUST like you! I predict that Alyssa will have dark red hair and tan skin... WOW! Kind of like African Americans with light colored eyes. BEAUTIFUL...
Note to Carmen: When are we going to get together about a family reunion?
Note to Lucie: Yes! I still Love Hayden even when I blog about other baby's!
Note to everyone... I got some good blogging coming up this week... STAY TUNED!

Home from Camp

Yes, Matt is home. I wanted to be there when he was getting off the bus (there were 9 buses!) but they came early. I had to search for him with about 450 kids running around. When I saw him he looked either sleepy or not to happy, maybe both. Roger carried his stuff to the car while I walked with him. I asked him if something were wrong. I finally got out of him that his counselor's son had made him really mad. He had gotten on Matt's bed with all his stuff laid out and started jumping on it with his shoes on. Matt told him a few times to stop and get off his stuff. When he didn't, he pushed him off and said, "GET DOWN _________! I was HORRIFIED when he told me this. Matthew never says ugly words. AND THIS WAS A CHURCH CAMP TOO! I said, Matthew, how could you say that? Did you say you were sorry?" He said he did, but I think he was told too.
On the way home from picking him up he asked for McDonald's (well, first he asked for Longhorn Steak House but we nipped that in the bud). So while we were eating he proceeded to tell Roger some crazy story that he and his friend bought some apple cider at the little store and found a beer bottle, washed it out and then put the apple cider in it -like if they were drinking beer! Then later I think I heard him say he was just kidding about the beer thing. Still were does he come up with this crap? We don't drink beer, and although there is some beer in the fridge, we used it for cooking with chicken and shrimp!
WHO IS THIS KID? WHAT DID THEY DO WITH MY CHILD?!?!

What is This?

Do you know what this is? Is it a crater on the moon? Mold? A booger Gabriel wiped on the wall?
None of the above.
It's where I busted my butt falling down the stairs on Tuesday when it was raining. I locked the front door, turned around and FELL straight down the stairs.
I cried.
Like a baby.
My whole right side hurt. I decided a little bit later to try again. So with my toes GRIPPING my shoes I slowly went down the stairs and walked down the sidewalk with Matt. Did I mention that we have two other steps to the street?
YES I DID. I fell down these too!
I cried.
Like a baby.
Again.
Matt gave me a hug because he just didn't know what else to do. He hasn't seen me cry very often.
I won't tell you where these bruises are... SO DON'T ASK. I just REALLY USED MY CROPPING TOOL. Did I mention that there are A LOT more than two... and they are BIG, Black and Blue?
I mentioned to Roger that he'd better be a good, nice boy or I'll report him for abuse... He laughed and said he needed a vacation anyway...

Dewey's Absent

Lucie sent me pictures of our godson over the weekend. She sent eleven but I really favored these two. I like the faces he is making. Katherine found one of her books on "Malcom in the Middle", a television show her and Matt watch. When she saw the close-up picture of Hayden she showed me the picture of a boy named Dewey on the show and it looked just like Hayden! I talked to Lucie and when I said I was going to put the picture of Dewy on the blog with the picture of Hayden she ignored me and changed the subject which leads me to believe she did not like the idea... and since I want to continue to receive pictures of my godson, Hayden, I decided everyone will have to live with out this comparison (at least on the blog). I can't loose touch with him over a picture of Dewey because when he grows up he would end up in therapy wondering why his godmother wasn't there for him...
Hayden's smiling picture has the exact face I made this weekend too when Gabriel went to the bathroom by himself at 6am without turning on all the lights in the house and without EVEN being told! I followed him in the bathroom and when he pulled his pants up he looked at me and said, "All right! Way to do it"! Then he walked back to bed in the dark.
Hope you had such a fun filled weekend...
